Inside Magno Chocolates: The Faceless Chocolate Factory in Envigado (Medellín)

This was never supposed to be a store.

Our space in Envigado (a stone's throw from Medellín) was originally built as Magno Chocolates' main production facility. That is the place where most of our chocolates are still made today. While our Cartagena Chocolate Lab now produces smaller experimental batches and tasting collections, the heart of Magno's day-to-day production still happens here.

This is where our team hand-grinds pistachios for the viral Dubai chocolate bars. Where bonbons are painted one by one. Where fillings are made from scratch. Where bars are molded, wrapped, packed, and shipped across Colombia from a small chocolate factory tucked into a neighborhood street in Envigado.

Inside the factory — most of what we make still happens by hand.

And then, over time, something we didn't plan for started happening.

People Were Already Coming Anyway

As the brand grew, more and more locals began showing up at the factory. Some wanted to pick up their chocolate orders in person. Some were curious to see where everything was made. Others wanted to try flavors before buying. And a lot of people just kept hearing about "the Dubai chocolate place" and decided to find it for themselves.

People were already coming. We just hadn't built anything for them yet.

So instead of hiding the factory behind a closed door, we decided to embrace it — and turn the experience into something intentional and unmistakably Magno.

The Faceless Store Concept, Born in Tokyo and Seoul

The idea came from somewhere unexpected.

During travels through Tokyo and Seoul, our founder Nataly Nicholls became fascinated by small "faceless" shops: places where the interaction felt minimal, futuristic, and thoughtfully designed around the product itself. No salesperson hovering. No glass cases lit up like a jewelry store. Just the product, and the ritual of getting to it.

It immediately felt right for this particular location, and for the way people were already interacting with the factory.

Today, visitors ring the bell, scan a QR code, place their order, and watch as a futuristic gem-inspired installation opens to reveal their chocolates. No traditional storefront. No glass display cases. Just a small chocolate factory reimagined through the lens of design, curiosity, and Colombian fine-flavor cacao.

What You'll Find Inside

From the shop, visitors can:

  • Taste our award-winning chocolates
  • Try the viral Dubai chocolate collection
  • Pick up chocolate gifts and souvenirs
  • Grab a cup of specialty Colombian coffee
  • Experience some of the country's most exciting fine-flavor cacao firsthand

Part Factory, Part Concept Store

What started as a production space slowly evolved into something else entirely: part chocolate factory, part concept store, part window into the new generation of Colombian chocolate.

It still surprises us a little, honestly. The factory was never meant to be a destination. The faceless store wasn't meant to be a draw. We just kept paying attention to what was actually happening at the door, and built around it.
