Surfing and Paddle Boarding

Cartagena is probably one of the better places in the world to learn to surf. The water is genuinely warm year round (we're talking bath water warm), the waves are gentle and forgiving, and the instructors are top notch. If you've never been on a board, this is about as friendly an introduction as you'll find anywhere. Paddle boarding is also available for those who want something calmer but still physically challenging — a great way to see the Bocagrande area from the quiet bay side while escaping the heat at the same time.
